South County center announces activities

South County Senior Center will be offering the following activities this month:

Today, Christmas in July sale.

Monday, summer classes begin.

Monday, 12:30 p.m., a Rite Aid pharmacist will review medications. Be sure to bring your over-the-counter and prescription medicines.

Tuesday, 10 a.m., Garden Group will have an aromatherapy seminar.

Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., a program on organizing bills, legal papers, household records and other documents.

Wednesday, 1 p.m., country music with Trudy Marie Woomer.

Annapolis center members eligible for tennis lessons

Annapolis Senior Center and Annapolis Area Tennis School are offering tennis classes for members of the center. The classes include:

Basics: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesdays, next week through Aug. 16, open to those with little or no experience.

Beyond basics: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursdays, next week through Aug. 18, for experienced players.

Social mixed doubles for experienced players: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, next week through Aug. 17.

Doubles round robin program for experienced players: 10 a.m. to noon Fridays, next week through Aug. 19.

Health events, games set at Arnold Senior Center

Arnold Senior Center will have the following activities this month:

Monday, summer classes begin.

Monday and July 18 and 25, Scrabble from 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, 1 p.m., information on Medicare prescription drug benefits. Participants can make appointments for completing their Medicare applications, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 15.

South County center holding class sign-up

South County Senior Center is holding registration for the following summer classes, which begin Monday:

Monday and July 18 and 25, noon, painting classes, "Scenes of the Chesapeake." Fee: $30.

Mondays, 10 a.m. to noon, "Contemporary Film and Theatre."

Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., "Sketchbooking," classes on making a visual journal of interesting things in life.

Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to noon, "State Quarters," covering state history, geography and coin collecting.

Tuesdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Piano I, featuring piano music, mainly sonatas and concertos.

Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., focus on how we view animals in our world at "Perceptions of Animals in America."

Pascal Senior Center plans paddle-wheeler trip

Pascal Senior Center has announced the trips for the year, including:

Thursday, two-hour trip on the paddle-wheeler Dorothy-Megan on the Choptank River. Lunch at Suicide Bridge Restaurant, 6304 Suicide Bridge Road, Hurlock.
