Tip of the week: Retaining workers

Communication is a vital part of any company's employee retention program. However, communication is a two-way process between supervisors and employees, as well as among peers. It requires listening as well as speaking. Employees who have regular, predictable dialogues with their supervisors are clearer on the requirements of their jobs, clearer on their supervisors' expectations and able to gauge their performance against these expectations. Additionally, creating an atmosphere where employees are encouraged to hold dialogues with their peers in candid discussions can enhance productivity, increase individual satisfaction and ultimately retain employees.
