TOMORROW

Independence Day holiday

County government offices, courts, libraries, the landfill and the animal shelter will be closed. There will be no trash or recycling service. The next trash pickup for Monday routes will be Tuesday; the next recycling and yard waste pickup for Monday routes will be July 11. Police, fire and 911 are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For emergencies, call 911; for nonemergencies, call 313-2200. For information on the fireworks celebration: Columbia Kiwanis, 410-740-4545.

TUESDAY

County Council

Will hold a legislative session at 7:30 p.m. in the Banneker Room of the George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City.

WEDNESDAY

Planning Board

Will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Ellicott Room, George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City.

Agricultural Preservation Advisory Board

Will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Howard County Fairgrounds Office, West Friendship.

THURSDAY

Historic District Commission

Will meet at 7 p.m. in the community meeting room of Police Department headquarters, Warfield Building, 3410 Court House Drive, Ellicott City.

Housing Commission and Housing & Community Development Board

Will meet at 7 p.m. in the fifth-floor executive conference room at the Gateway Building, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia.

LANDFILL

Hours: Alpha Ridge Landfill, 2350 Marriottsville Road in Marriottsville, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, except some holidays.
