Summer Teen Jam

There is no better place than Druid Hill Park to enjoy a warm Baltimore night and no better time than tomorrow night when the Department of Recreation and Parks throws the second annual Summer Teen Jam. The Mayor's Office of Children, Youth and Family and the Police Athletic League join for a night of live entertainment and food, dance contests, movies, swimming, tennis, basketball, card tournaments and more.

The Summer Teen Jam will be held tomorrow at Druid Hill Park, 2600 Madison Ave., from 7 p.m. to midnight. Admission is free with pre-registration. Call to register at 410-396-7900. To register for three-on-three basketball, contact Sherron Bogues at 410-396-0848.

Blues at Linganore

Has summertime got you down already? Sip wine and listen to the Kelly Bell Band and the Nighthawks Band play the blues this Saturday and Sunday at the annual Swingin' Blues Wine Festival at Linganore Winecellars. The festival boasts food and refreshments, more than 25 arts and crafts vendors and a petting zoo and playground for children. The admission price includes the shows, a guided tour of the winery, an engraved glass and a tasting of fruit and grape wines. The gate will open at 11 a.m. The Kelly Bell Band will take the stage both days at noon, and the Nighthawks at 3:30 p.m. Bring beach chairs and a blanket.

The Swingin' Blues Wine Festival is noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Linganore Winecellars, 13601 Glissans Mill Road, Mount Airy. Admission is $10 for adults, under 21 admitted free. Workshop at Cylburn

If your porch or patio need a little sprucing up this summer, be sure to visit the Cylburn Greenhouses tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. or Saturday at 10:15 a.m. where Glenda Weber, city naturalist, will lead a workshop on how to plant a patio container. A variety of annuals as well as foliage combinations will be provided, but make sure to bring garden gloves.
