Eleanor Ricker Turner, 92, Baltimore County teacher

Eleanor Ricker Turner, a retired Baltimore County music teacher, died of a heart attack Tuesday at Edenwald Retirement Community in Towson, where she resided for the past nine years. She was 92 and had lived in Towson.

Born in Media, Pa., Miss Turner earned a degree from Mansfield College in Mansfield, Pa., and after teaching in Hanover, Pa., became a teacher for the Baltimore County school system in 1949.

She taught music at Kenwood Senior High School in Rosedale and at Hereford High School in northern Baltimore County. She also produced student productions of Broadway musical comedies before her 1974 retirement.

After moving to Edenwald, she organized a residents chorus, which performed at Christmas and for other occasions.

She enjoyed bridge, travel and attending musical performances.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Towson Presbyterian Church, 400 W. Chesapeake Ave.

Miss Turner leaves no immediate survivors.
