THE QUESTION:

When school ended recently, my child's building still lacked air conditioning. When will all of Carroll County's schools be equipped with air conditioning?

THE ANSWER:

The district has five schools without air conditioning.

Of those, Freedom District Elementary in Sykesville and Charles Carroll and William Winchester elementaries in Westminster are expected to have air conditioning installed by the time school starts this fall, said Ray Prokop, the district's facilities director.

Mount Airy Middle and Westminster West Middle in Westminster are scheduled to have air conditioning installed by August 2006.
