Notable: Alibi won 24 free hours of recording time in a February battle of the bands at Nation nightclub in Washington. The result: A nine-song original album to be released at the Funk Box on Saturday.

Quotable: On cutting the album: "You suddenly get this huge respect for recording artists," McMichael said. "At the same time, you're very jealous of the fact that they have unlimited time and money to record these great albums."
