Player of the Year
Kerry Shea, Seton Keough
Equally strong at attack or on the defensive end, the senior midfielder also mopped up 52 ground balls. A broken finger forced her to miss a few games early, but she came on strong as the Gators upset top-seeded and No. 2 St. Paul's in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland quarterfinals.
FOR THE RECORD - in an item on Baltimore City girls lacrosse Coach of the Year Kendra Ausby of City College, the school's nickname should have been Knights.
Shea, also an All-Metro pick last season, led the Gators in scoring with 38 goals and 11 assists.
Coach of the Year
Kendra Ausby, City
In her first season with the Engineers, the former UMBC player led them to a 6-5 record against Baltimore City opponents after they had not won a single game the previous year. The Engineers produced that record despite usually having only 10 or 11 girls on the field.
