Baltimore Co. police announce 6 promotions

Ceremony to be held tomorrow morning at Maryland State Fairgrounds

Baltimore County police plan to formally mark the promotions of six members of the department Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.

Chief Terrence B. Sheridan and County Executive James T. Smith Jr. are set to present certificates to the newly promoted members, identified as:

Capt. Mark J. Warren, promoted to the rank of major and assigned to the Operations Bureau;

Lt. Barry C. Barber, promoted to the rank of captain and assigned to Precinct 2/Woodlawn;

Sgt. Laura L. Clark, promoted to the rank of lieutenant and assigned to Precinct 2/Woodlawn;

Cpl. George J. Rakowski, promoted to the rank of sergeant and assigned to the Operations Bureau;

Officer Biff H. Benson, promoted to the rank of corporal and assigned to Precinct 12/North Point;

Officer Joseph M. Jamerson, promoted to the rank of corporal and assigned to Precinct 2/Woodlawn.

Clerk of Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Suzanne Mensh will administer the oaths of office, police said.
