Pirates update

These teams haven't met during the regular season, but the Orioles lost to the Pirates in the 1971 and 1979 World Series. The Orioles haven't been to Pittsburgh since Game 5 of the '79 Series, when the Pirates won, 7-1, to force a return trip to Baltimore. The Pirates have won five of their past seven games and six of nine after losing five of six. They are 22-18 in their past 40 games after beginning the season 4-11. The Pirates are 2-8 in one-run games at home, and 5-12 overall. Pittsburgh's starters have a 2.53 ERA (13 earned runs in 46 2/3 innings) in their past seven games. Former Oriole Jose Mesa has 16 saves. In eight years of interleague play, the Pirates are 44-65, including 2-10 last year.
