A Note to Readers

June 05, 2005

There are warmer days ahead and this issue of UniSun presents activities to keep you busy this summer. Whether your preference is sports, culture, comedy or music, the Baltimore region has a lot to offer.

We also tell you about a member of the Mission Helpers order of nuss, an interior designer from Beltsville and the health benefits of walking. The First Person essay is written by a composer who recently settled in Baltimore and presented a major work this spring.

The next issue of UniSun is Aug. 7, when more stories of interest will be shepherded by Karlayne R. Parker, the new UniSun editor.

Karlayne, who has extensive writing and editing experience at daily newspapers in Florida and, most recently, Tennessee, is returning to the Mid-Atlantic region.

She will be out in the community looking for story ideas to help shape UniSun's coverage of Baltimore's African-American community. So please don't hesitate to tell her what's happening if you meet her. You can also contact her at 410-332-6620 or send suggestions, news releases or story tips to unisun@baltsun.com or write UniSun, Features Department, 501 N. Calvert St., Baltimore, MD 21278.
