Steven Strohminger, 28, self-employed painter

A Mass of Christian burial for Steven Patrick Strohminger, a self-employed house painter, will be offered at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.

Mr. Strohminger, 28, died Wednesday in a fire at his Glen Burnie apartment.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Bel Air, Mr. Strohminger moved to Arnold with his family in 1991 and was a 1995 graduate of Severna Park High School.

For nearly the last decade, Mr. Strohminger worked as a painter.

He liked crabbing and fishing in the Magothy River, and hunting. He also enjoyed reading science fiction and mysteries.

Surviving are his parents, Carol A. and David G. Strohminger, a brother, Matthew D. Strohminger, and sister, Nancy T. Strohminger, all of Arnold; his paternal grandparents, George and Joan Strohminger, and maternal grandmother, Marguerite Pyles, all of Baltimore; and his girlfriend, Shirleen Bennet of Baltimore.
