Stores to return some Tylenol products

June 04, 2005|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

The maker of Tylenol asked retailers nationwide yesterday to return three kinds of children's Tylenol products because of potentially confusing labeling that might result in accidental overdoses.

The voluntary recall covers all blister packs and bottles of 80-milligram Children's Tylenol Meltaways and Children's Tylenol Chewables, and all 160-milligram Jr. Tylenol Meltaways.

"We are not aware of any serious adverse events," said Bonnie Jacobs, a spokeswoman for McNeil Consumer and Specialty Pharmaceuticals. The recall, issued in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, did not extend to consumers.
