DIANE D. (nee Cameron) RUSSELL of Jacobus, PA. Born March 21, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 29, 2005. She was surrounded by friends and family as Angels led her on the journey into her new life. She was the daughter of Eleanore (nee Wheeler) Cameron and the late Elmer Cameron of Baltimore, MD. She was a graduate of Eastern High School, Baltimore, MD. She worked as an independent Certified Real Estate Appraiser and as an Associate Real Estate Broker. She formerly worked as an adjudicator for the Department of Veterans Affairs and helped disabled and wounded veterans receive their benefits. She honored our Vietnam veterans by serving in the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and the entombment of the Unknown Soldier, killed in Vietnam, at Arlington National Cemetery. She was a member of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403 Auxiliary, Glen Rock, PA, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7012 Ladies Auxiliary, New Freedom, PA. Mrs. Russell is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, John K. Russell of Jacobus, PA, her daughter and son in-law Joyce and Steve Reding of Glen Rock, PA, two grand sons Sean and Travis, her mother Eleanore Cameron and her sister Cheryl Williford, both of Severn, MD. A memorial service will be held at 10 am Friday, June 3 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester St., Glen Rock, PA. The service will be conducted by Bishop Suzanne Wickham. Assisting will be Rev. John L. Trout and Rev. Michael G. Rokos. Visitations will be Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm at the J. J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454, or Austin L. Grove American Legion Post 403, 4035 Manchester St., Glen Rock, PA 17327.
