Tip of the week: Interviewing

Never "just wing it" when it comes to a job interview. Preparation is key. Many companies use behavioral interviewing by posing situational or hypothetical questions [during the interview] to understand motivation and predict future behavior.

"How would you handle ... " or "Tell me about a time ... " are typical openers.

Develop "your story." Articulate specific examples. Be prepared to answer, "Why did you ... ?" and "How would you ... ?" for every bullet point, result and achievement. Memorize dates and chronology.

Role-play with someone you trust and do it over and over. Commit the details to memory. You'll stay calm and confident and present your best first impression.
