The 65th annual McCormick Unsung Heroes Awards Banquet will be held tomorrow at Marriott's Hunt Valley Inn.
Two of the 115 candidates representing 72 Baltimore City and County public, private, parochial and independent schools will be honored as the 2005 Unsung Heroes scholarship winners.
Awarded to one male athlete and one female athlete, the McCormick scholarships are valued at $7,500 per year for each of the four academic years. Established in 1940 by the late Charles P. McCormick, the Unsung Heroes program recognizes unselfish team play and honors those who contribute substantially to the success of their teams without receiving acclaim.
This year's keynote speaker will be Ravens coach Brian Billick. More than 700 city and county officials, school administrators, coaches and friends are expected to attend.
