Financial-legal session set at Bain Center
The Howard County Department of Citizen Services' Office on Aging will present a seminar on understanding and evaluating the financial and legal situation relating to later life, "Legally Secure Your Financial Future: Organize, Communicate, Prepare," from 8:10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia.

`Reading Lolita' slated for discussion May 19

Office on Aging to mark Older Americans Month
The Office on Aging will celebrate Older Americans Month with a program at 10:30 a.m. with lunch at noon May 25 at Ten Oaks Ballroom, 5000 Signal Bell Lane, Clarksville.
County Executive James N. Robey and the County Council will join the seniors to recognize the 40th anniversary of the Older Americans Act. Featured will be an appearance by the Young Columbians.

Wills, powers of attorney to be topic at Bain Center
Attorney Anthony Doyle will be at the Bain Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 18 for a 60 Plus Wills and Legal Screening Program sponsored by the Office on Aging.
Simple wills, powers of attorney, living wills, small estates and deed changes can be executed. The cost of document preparation depends on the individual or couple's income.

Drop-in play group set at Kahler Hall
The Parent Resource Place, a program of Jewish Family Services in Howard County, will offer "Share and Compare," an informal drop-in play group and parent workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month.
The program is held at Kahler Hall, 5440 Old Tucker Row in the Harper's Choice Village Center.
Admission is free, but registration is requested.

Herbal Delights class is scheduled for Tuesday
The Department of Recreation and Parks will sponsor an Herbal Delights class for those ages 55 and older from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Bain Center, 5470 Ruth Keeton Way, Columbia.
Learn to use herbs to make vinegar, salt-free seasonings, herbal teas and potpourri.
The cost is $18 a person.
