Two men were dead and a teenager was in critical condition after three unrelated shootings yesterday in Baltimore.
Southern District officers responded to a report of a shooting about 2:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of W. Lombard St. They found a man dead, sitting in the driver's seat of a car, its engine running. The victim's name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
About 1:30 p.m., Northern District officers found Mark C. Jones, 40, of the 500 block of E. 26th St. lying in the 2500 block of Greenmount Ave. and bleeding from at least four gunshot wounds. Homicide Detective Robert Dohony said Jones died about 30 minutes later at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Two hours later, Eastern District officers responding to a shooting in the 2400 block of E. Hoffman St. found the third victim, Garnett Vinson, 16, of the 2400 block of Llewelyn Ave., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. Vinson was in critical condition and on life-support at Johns Hopkins Hospital, said Detective Tommy Martin.
Further details on the shootings were not disclosed by police.
