Lillian Dale Snyder, 63, hospital worker, cat lover

Lillian Dale Snyder, a hospital worker and animal lover, died of lung cancer Wednesday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. The Timonium resident was 63.

Born Lillian Dale Johnson in Baltimore and raised in the Hamilton section, she was a 1959 graduate of Eastern High School and earned an associate's degree from what was then Baltimore Junior College.

Mrs. Snyder, who was known as Dale, worked in geriatrics at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for several years, and since 1999 had been geriatrics medical coordinator at Union Memorial Hospital.

She enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. She also took in and cared for stray cats.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. May 6 in the arts and sciences pavilion at Oregon Ridge Nature Center, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville.

Surviving are two sons, Richard P. Snyder of Jacksonville, Fla., and Steven B. Snyder of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Stacy S. Johnson of Owings Mills; four brothers, Donald Johnson of Pinehurst, N.C., John Johnson of Baltimore, Gary Johnson of Reisterstown and Robert Johnson of Jarrettsville; six grandchildren; and her longtime companion, Stan Wadsworth. Her marriage to Richard Snyder ended in divorce.
