Triple-A International League

Ottawa 4, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 3: Alejandro Freire homered and doubled to lead the Lynx (10-7) over the Red Barons (11-8).

Jacobo Sequea gave Ottawa a scare by surrendering two runs to Scranton in the bottom of the ninth.

However, Eddy Rodriguez came in and retired the side to record his first save of the year.

Tony Fiore (1-0) got the win for Ottawa. He struck out five and walked none in six innings.

Double-A Eastern League

Akron 15, Bowie 6: Baysox starter Kurt Birkins (0-2) gave up six hits and nine runs, just four earned, in two innings, his shortest outing on record this season, as the host Aeros (10-7) won.

Birkins gave up a grand slam to Jon Van Every in the first inning.

Akron sent nine batters to the plate in each of the first two innings and led by as many as 14.

Bowie (8-11) left 13 on base.
