Wine of the week

April 27, 2005|By Michael Dresser

2002 Truth Wines "Lindsey's Cuvee" ($16). This lush, intensely flavorful blend of California cabernet sauvignon and syrah offers abundant black currant, black cherry and blackberry fruit. It's ready to drink now but a few years in the cellar wouldn't hurt it a bit. More hearty than elegant, it would match up well with pasta or grilled steak. This is a fine effort from winery owner Constantine "Gus" Kalaris, who owns Maryland-based Constantine Wines Inc.
