A 68-year-old Reisterstown man died and four people were injured Friday after a car and a pickup truck collided in Severn, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

A 68-year-old Reisterstown man died and four people were injured Friday after a car and a pickup truck collided in Severn, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.
A 1998 Nissan Sentra driven by Alex Rusabrov of the first block of Red Mile Court in Reisterstown was turning onto Telegraph Road from Florida Avenue when it went into the path of a 1988 Toyota pickup, police said. Rusabrov died of internal injuries at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
A man and two women in the Sentra were taken to Shock Trauma, police said. The pickup driver, a 17-year-old boy, was treated for minor injuries.

Man shooting at burglars instead injures his mother
A Northwest Baltimore woman was wounded in her home Friday when her adult son opened fire on several burglars and accidentally shot her, police said yesterday.
Three or four men entered the home in the 400 block of Bateman Ave. about 7:25 p.m. After the woman went downstairs to confront them, her son fired a gun, grazing her back. The intruders fled. She was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. No charges will be filed against her son, said police, who declined to identify him and his mother.

Road work will restrict traffic on Russell St. today
Median work on a stretch of Route 295 (Russell Street) in Baltimore will restrict northbound motorists to two lanes and southbound motorists to a single lane today, the Baltimore Department of Transportation announced.
The lane closures will be from Bush Street south to the city line, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
