McDonogh tops Friends in boys lacrosse, 9-3

Porter Curran scored two first-half goals and No. 1 McDonogh used a balanced scoring attack to rout host No. 7 Friends, 9-3, in a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference boys lacrosse game yesterday.

Seven players scored goals for the Eagles (16-0, 6-0), including Bryn Holmes, who had two.


Southern-AA 3, No. 3 Severna Park 2: Shaun Collins' single in the bottom of the seventh scored Ben Muell (4-for-4 with a double) to lift the Bulldogs over the Falcons (10-3).


Glen Burnie 2, No. 1 Chesapeake-AA 1: Adrian Blake hit a two-out, two-run homer to left-center field as the host Gophers (7-5) upset the Cougars (7-2).

Chesapeake's lone run came on a double in the seventh inning.
