Red Sox update

The defending World Series champions won five in a row before losing to Toronto last night, falling out of a first-place tie with the Orioles. Manny Ramirez had two multi-homer games in three nights going into last night, when he connected for home run No. 5. His 16 RBIs rank second behind Miguel Tejada in the American League. David Ortiz took Roy Halladay deep in the 4-3 loss for his fourth home run of the year. Wells and Clement are two of the new additions to the Boston rotation, which no longer includes Pedro Martinez and Derek Lowe. The Red Sox were 9-10 against the Orioles last year, the first time Boston lost a season series to them since 1996.
