Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Northeastern District

Arrest: Norman Ransom was arrested yesterday at his home in the 2600 block of Garrett Ave. by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Ransom, 23, is charged with shooting Darryl Doles, 33, in the head, neck and stomach about 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Abbotston St. Doles remains in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Southwestern District

Drug arrests: Two men were heading south in a 1995 Jeep on Interstate 95 near Caton Avenue about 1 a.m. Monday when Officer Earl Sweigart of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police stopped them for a minor traffic violation. Suspecting the driver was under the influence of alcohol, Sweigert searched both men and found nearly 3 ounces of cocaine. Charged with drug possession were the driver, Rudilio Portillo, 31, of the 5900 block of Montgomery St., Woodlawn, and Erinque A. Vasquez, 29, of the 8800 block of Stow Road, Columbia. The vehicle was impounded.

Northern District

Robbery: Dwayne Murphy, 30, was walking in the 5900 block of York Road about 2 a.m. Monday when four men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $45.

Southeastern District

Theft: A yellow front-end loader valued at $16,000 was stolen Friday from a construction site in the 800 block of Kane St. The theft was reported Monday.

Assault/arrest: Officers Jonathan Conklin and Angela Triplin were in the first block of S. Conkling St. about 2 p.m. Monday when they observed a man holding a box cutter at the throat of another man. After several warnings, the assailant dropped the cutter. Charged with aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon was James T. Bushrod, 34, of the 3500 block of E. Fayette St.

Northwestern District

Arrest: Kipton Degree, 19, of the 200 block of S. Wickham Road, was arrested Monday at his attorney's office on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Degree is charged with stabbing Willard Smith and Elizabeth Winder in the 4300 block of Fairview Ave. on April 6.

Southern District

Stolen vehicle: Three men stole a 1993 Dodge van with tags 236M531 in the 200 block of S. Parkin St. on Monday. The theft was captured on a surveillance camera.

Baltimore County

Essex Precinct

Robbery/arrest: Police arrested a 17-year-old boy Monday night, shortly after an armed robbery of three teenage boys at Tidewood and Nollmeyer roads, and were seeking a second teenage male suspect. The victims were robbed of $140 by two youths, one armed with a knife and the other with a baseball bat. Held for police by the father of one victim and charged as an adult was Douglas Blevins of the 3500 block of Dahlia Lane.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: A gold necklace valued at $360 and $5 in coins were stolen Monday from a house in the 6600 block of Walnut Woods Circle.

Burglary: Someone entered a storage locker in the basement of an apartment building in the 800 block of Mockingbird Lane on Tuesday and stole an antique table valued at $200.

Wilkens Precinct

Burglary: A generator valued at $1,000 was stolen Monday from a shed behind the U.S. Post Office in the 100 block of Waelchli Ave.

Robbery: A 45-year-old woman was placing her grandchild in a car in the 4200 block of Baltimore Ave. about 2 p.m. Monday when a man stole her purse containing $100 in property and cash.
