On April 16, 2005, CARROLL EMMITT LOEWER, JR.; former husband of Marilyn D. Loewer; dear father of David Loewer and Carroll Loewer, III; loving grandfather of Christopher Loewer. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26A), on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M, where a Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 9 A.M. Interment Parkwood Cemetery. Carroll Loewer was born in Baltimore, MD on May 28, 1927. He attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute until drafted in August 1945 to serve in the US Army for the support of WWII. He received an honorable discharge in 1947 and returned to Poly to graduate in 1948. Carroll worked at his father excavation business-Carroll E. Loewer, Sr. Contraction Company of Baltimore. He was then employed at the C & P Telephone Company of Maryland, where he retired after 42 years of service. He was responsible for many of the upgrades of the original phone systems in La Plata and Waldorf, MD. He was one of the Project Engineers implementing the 911 system in Maryland. He enjoyed collection antiques and spending time with his grandson Christopher.
