Tigers update

The Tigers (5-7) have won two straight after ending a five-game skid with a victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. After facing the New York Yankees' Mike Mussina and Kevin Brown on Saturday and Sunday, the Orioles will oppose a former member of the organization in Johnson tonight for a third straight game. The right-hander is coming off a start against the Minnesota Twins in which he retired only one batter in the first inning, while allowing five runs on seven hits, the shortest outing of his professional career. Ivan Rodriguez had three hits yesterday and is batting .388, third in the American League. Outfielder Dmitri Young leads his team with three homers. The Orioles will not have to worry about Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez, who is on the disabled list with a hernia.
