Devil Rays update

Tampa Bay has achieved as many victories (three) as spring training retirements. The Devil Rays took two of three games from the Oakland Athletics over the weekend, missing out on a sweep Sunday. Their three-game winning streak matched their longest April stretch under manager Lou Piniella. The Devil Rays play 14 of their first 19 at home. Their starting pitchers held opponents to a .180 batting average through the first five games, lowest among all major league staffs. Aubrey Huff tied Fred McGriff for most home runs in franchise history with 99. Huff has played in 588 career games. Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey Jr. needed 640 to hit their 100th home runs. The Orioles were 11-8 against Tampa Bay last year, but lost two of three at Tropicana Field in their first series. - Roch Kubatko
