Yankees update

Three new Yankees pitchers will face the Orioles, who confront the powerhouses of their division - New York and defending World Series champion Boston - in 11 of their first 22 games. Those two played each other in the season-opening series, with the Yankees winning two of three. New York's starting rotation is now anchored by Johnson and Pavano, and Wright is 2-0 against the Orioles. The Yankees' lineup is a familiar one, with the only major changes being the return of first baseman Tino Martinez and the addition of second baseman Tony Womack. The Orioles had little success against the Yankees last season, going 5-14 in the series, the fourth straight year they lost at least 13 times to them. Ponson pitched two complete-game victories against New York, one a two-hit shutout, last season.
