Blast tonight

Matchup: Blast (14-19) vs. Cleveland Force (18-15)

Site: Wolstein Center, Cleveland

Time: 7:35

Radio: WCBM (680 AM)

Outlook: With six games left, the Blast is four games behind Cleveland for the Major Indoor Soccer League's fourth and final playoff spot. The Blast still has a chance for the postseason, given that it plays the Force tonight and again April 22 and has two games with Kansas City, the team it is battling with to avoid last place, and Chicago, the team just above it, in fifth. But making the playoffs will require a gigantic effort and a long winning streak. The Blast, 3-7 in its past 10 games, surprised the second-place Philadelphia KiXX last weekend, 4-3 in overtime. Who knows what it still may be capable of? Tonight, the Baltimore team could have the upper hand, with the Crunch having won in Kansas City last night. The Blast, with another game in Kansas City tomorrow night, is relatively healthy. It has actually left two healthy players home on this trip and will be missing only those who are out for the season - Denison Cabral, Adilson De Lima and Carlos Garcia, all for knee surgery, and Marcos Chantel, who had groin surgery.
