Motorcyclist is killed

A motorcyclist was killed last night when his bike crashed on Route 702 near the Baltimore Beltway, state police reported.

About 10 p.m., a motorist spotted the motorcycle and its rider lying on the side of the road near the ramp to the Beltway in Essex and called police.

The victim was pronounced dead at Franklin Square Hospital, police said. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
