Miaritis scores four goals for Hoyas

Senior midfielder Nick Miaritis scored four goals for No. 7 Georgetown leading the Hoyas to an 11-6 victory over No. 6 Navy Sunday afternoon at Rip Miller Field in Annapolis.

The loss snapped the Mids' four-game win streak .

The game was a continuation of Saturday's game, which was suspended after official Scott Boyle died of an apparent heart attack during the first half.

The Hoyas dominated play on Saturday, out-scoring the Mids 2-0 after the opening stanza. On Sunday, Georgetown (5-2) picked up where it left off, scoring four-consecutive goals in the second period, including two in the first 2:30, to open up a 6-0 lead on the Mids (7-2) with 5:15 to play in the half. Two of Miaritis' four goals were scored in the first half.

Navy finally got on the scoreboard when sophomore midfielder Billy Looney found Graham Gill who tucked in his seventh goal of the season on an extra-man goal with 3:44 remaining in the opening half.

Nick Mirabito led Navy with two goals and an assist, while Ben Horn scored a pair of goals.
