EXOTIC NEW HUES

When longtime model Iman thinks of the term "women of color," she doesn't think just African-American. So when she developed her self-named cosmetics line in 1994, she focused on the skin color of women of many ethnicities: mixed races, Native American, Hispanic, Asian, Indian, African and Middle Eastern.

For spring, Iman has come up with a fresh new makeup collection called Urban Exotic that she says captures the essence of spring fashion.

With her Modern Luxe Face Kit in colors such as Nutmeg, Sand Stone, Sunrise and White Gold, and her Luxury Lip Shines in shades such as Exotique, Jazzy, Edgy and Urban, Iman has brought new meaning to the phrase "women of color."

Iman products are sold at certain Wal-mart, Walgreen's and Target stores. Go to www.i-iman.com for retail locations.

A gentle touch for your hair

We love our Dove beauty bars. They're not drying, the way soap can be. And Dove leaves your body feeling and smelling clean and fresh.

Now you can have that same Dove freshness for your hair. Last year, Dove introduced hair-care products, such as shampoos and conditioners. Now, the new Dove Styling line has expanded to include five hair sprays, two mousses, two gels, a pomade, an anti-frizz cream and a straightening cream.

Capitalizing on the moisturizing benefits for which Dove has become known, the company says the new products contain "weightless moisturizers" to condition and style hair at the same time.

The products are available in food, drug and mass-retail outlets.

Tote your cell phone in style

Your outfit is super fly. Your shoes are darling. Your makeup is flawless and you're having a good hair day. This is a day to go out and be seen!

Too bad your tiny, high-priced cell phone is all scratched and peeling. Either that, or it's swaddled in some bulky, ugly black leather protector.

Thank goodness someone cares about keeping your technology fashionable. Mixx Inc., an accessories manufacturer, and Verizon Wireless have come up with the Phonepocke (pronounced phone-pock-key), a stylish pouch that transforms your basic cell-phone carrying case into a trendy must-have fashion accessory.

Mixx also offers the similarly cute Poire -- "pear" in French -- a small polyester pouch that holds and protects cell phones from all the things inside your purse that conspire to abuse it.

Between the two brands, anyone who wants to add a little style to her trusty wireless friend can choose from a variety of fabrics and patterns, such as denim with embroidered flowers, black-trimmed leopard print, black and pink Scottie dog print, argyle or brown with fur trim.
