Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Anne Arundel County.

Northern District

Carjacking: County police are searching for a 1992 white Pontiac Firebird (Maryland plates 6AHE76) that was taken last Sunday. The driver offered a man a ride to a liquor store, but during the trip, the passenger demanded that the driver take him to Baltimore to purchase drugs. Upon their return, the man attacked the driver at the intersection of Camp Meade and Maple roads, took control of the car and drove away.

Robbery: A man entered Sally's Beauty Supply in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie on March 25 and sought to make a purchase but went behind the registers and demanded money and merchandise. The man, who implied that he had a weapon, fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.

Southern District

Arrest: A man carrying a sawed-off shotgun entered Muddy Creek Liquors Sunday night in Edgewater, demanding money from the register. The robber took an undetermined amount of cash and fled in a blue Ford Escort. Police spotted and chased a car that matched the description of the car. David Snider, 27, of Sandy Side was arrested and charged with armed robbery and first-degree assault. Police said they found a sawed-off shotgun and cash in his car.


Vandalism: Annapolis police are looking for vandals who shot out windows at businesses, cars and bus shelters Sunday and Monday. At least 12 incidents were reported.

Arrest: A mother saw her 17-year-old son carrying a case of beer last Sunday morning near her home in Tyler Place. She asked him to hand over the beer, but he refused. Police found the boy, beer and cigarettes in woods nearby. He was charged with underage possession of tobacco and alcohol.

Eastern District

Reward: The county police are seeking help to identify whoever damaged a series of vehicles with a BB gun from March 22 to Tuesday. Thousands of dollars worth of damage has been caused to cars in Cape St. Claire, Mago Vista, St. Margaret's, Arnold and Severna Park. Crime Solvers of Annapolis is offering up to $1,000 for those with information on these incidents. Call the county police at 410-222-6145 or Crime Solvers at 410-267-8888.

Western District

Assault: A man was assaulted while he was delivering a pizza March 25 in the 8200 block of Kilmory Court in Severn. The delivery man, who worked for Pizza Express, was punched in the face but didn't heed demands that he hand over his money.
