Business, engineering, athletes and books have been reason to celebrate around town. At the 19th Annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference, one party was not enough. As part of the event, the Black CEO Summit's Hall of Fame dinner at the Baltimore Convention Center on Feb. 17 featured guest speaker National Urban League head Marc Morial. On Feb. 18, the Top 50 Blacks in Technology were feted at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel, and then on Feb. 19, a pre-awards reception preceded the closing dinner at the Convention Center. That same week, friends and family celebrated the launch of Ray Lewis' Full Moon Bar-B-Que restaurant before the public opening. Also, book lovers gathered at a breakfast at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel recently to listen to author Eric Jerome Dickey.
