Word of Grace church is moving to new building

Word of Grace Family Church marks its fourth anniversary with a move to a larger facility at 6730 Bay Meadow Drive, Glen Burnie.

The church, whose congregation began meeting at a Holiday Inn, has been located at 715 Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie since 2001. The first service at the new church will be Sunday. A fourth-anniversary celebration is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. April 10, and will feature music by Anthony Storing, food, games, and prizes for kids.

Anchor Baptist Church will present Rev. Gary Bill as guest pastor for the Spring evangelistic meetings, April 10-13, 320 West Pasadena Road, Millersville.

Pastor Bill is from Grace Baptist Church, in Starr, S.C. Sunday Services are at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Monday through Wednesday services will begin at 7 p.m. Nursery care will be available for children through age 3. Information: 410-647-9614.

The Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church adult choir will present a concert titled "Music from the Heart," at 8 p.m. April 8, at 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Severna Park.

The program will focus on traditional American spirituals such as "Deep River," Jester Hairston's arrangement of "I Want Jesus to Walk With Me," and "My Lord What a Mornin," as well as contemporary pieces such as "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," Adam Copeland's "At the River," and a modern adaptation of "Amazing Grace" by Craig Courtney.

Family Fun:

Glen Burnie Seventh-Day Adventist Church will sponsor its annual Health Fair, 5K Run and 1-mile Fun Run and Walk beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., 508 Aquahart Road, Glen Burnie. Entry fees are $15 in advance, $12 for seniors, $10 for ages 12 and under, and $20 on race day. The fair is free. Activities will include sprints and races, mother-daughter races, a father-son race, scavenger hunts, and T-shirts to the first 100 participants. Spiritual Healing:

Art Auction:

St. Philip Neri Parish and School will sponsor an art auction on April 9, at the Parish Center, 6405 S. Orchard Road, Linthicum. A preview party takes place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. featuring hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and specialty desserts. Ross Galleries will present a lively auction of affordable oils, watercolors, Disney memorabilia and estate jewelry. All artwork will be matted and framed. Grass Project:

The second and final workshop for the "Grasses for the Masses" project will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, 333 Dubois Road. Fee is $20 due at meeting. 410-263-5653.

Prayer and Bible Study:

Grace Baptist Church of Sunset Beach, 17 Somerset Road has a weekly prayer service and Bible study that meets at 6:30 p.m.; "Team Kid" for boy and girls ages 5 to 12 meets at 6:30 p.m.; Thursday Night Bible Study that meets at 7 p.m.; and "Team Teen" for ages 13 to 19 that meets at 7 p.m. on Thursdays. 410-255-5616.

Spring Festival:

St. Andrew's United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Spring "Cinco de Mayo Festival" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 7 at 4 Wallace Manor Road, Edgewater. Activities will include food, music, gardening items, antiques, arts and crafts, and kids activities. The event is free. 410-269-7671.
