Employment fair to interview for jobs at BWI Airmall

BAA Maryland will hold a job fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Four Points by Sheraton BWI Airport, 7032 Elm Road, Linthicum.

Many retailers and restaurants in the new Airmall will be interviewing for immediate positions in retail sales, food service and management at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

Businesses include Auntie Anne's, Quiznos Subs, California Tortilla, Subway, Villa Pizza, Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Borders and Godiva Chocolatier.

Diet and nutrition center to open in Annapolis

Water To Go Diet & Nutrition Center in Annapolis will hold a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

There will be 20 percent storewide savings and free vitamin consultations.

Friday's events include a gluten-free/wheat-free open house with an on-site gluten-free cooking demonstration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A ribbon-cutting will be held at 10 a.m.

All visitors will receive a free gallon of purified drinking water.

Saturday will feature freshly grilled specialty burgers, including salmon, garden, ostrich, buffalo and mahi-mahi.

Water To Go is at 1362 Cape St. Claire Road in the Cape St. Claire Shopping Center.

Seminars planned on careers in real estate

Long & Foster Realtors will hold seminars on "A Career in Real Estate" to address questions on going into business in real estate.

Topics will include how to get started, course requirements, training costs and the benefits of a real estate career. Seminars are free, but reservations are advised.

Nominees sought for businesswoman award

The TWIN 2005 Steering Committee is seeking nominations of community women with outstanding achievements to receive the TWIN Community Honoree award for 2005.

TWIN honors businesswomen who have made a significant contribution to their workplace and community.

Community honorees are women who work or volunteer for a nonprofit organization and who have no other opportunity to be funded for the award.

Nomination forms are available to any nonprofit or community organization that is interested in submitting names for the award. Nominees can be volunteer or paid, and should be someone who has contributed significantly to the quality of life in the county.

Deadline for applications is April 8. Winners will be invited to a reception in May and dinner in June to receive their awards.

Nominations accepted for business hall of fame

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is holding its 2005 Comcast Business Hall of Fame and annual business awards program.

Nominations are being accepted for business leader of the year, entrepreneur of the year, emerging business of the year, developer of the year, national achievement award, community outreach award and nonprofit of the year.

Nominations should include pertinent information about the nominee and nominator, and a 250-word-or-less essay on why the nominee should be considered for the award.

Deadline for nominations is May 2.

Annapolis water tours available through fall

Annapolis Tours & Watermark Cruises have announced onboard boat events.

April 17: From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Watermark Wedding Showcase will feature area wedding service providers. Tickets are $8 in advance, and $10 at the dock.

90-minute boat tours: Saturdays and Sundays from April 23 to May 15; and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from May 20 to Sept. 5. Times and locations vary. Tickets are $16 for adults, and $8 for children 3 to 11.

Daily harbor boat tours: Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays now through May 13. Spa Creek tours are held Mondays, Fridays and weekends from April 23 to Sept. 5, and Sept. 6 and Oct. 2. Call for times.

Walking tours: Held daily from Friday to Oct. 3, starting at the 26 West St. visitor center. "A Walk With the Colonials" is two hours and costs $11 for adults, and $6 for ages 3 to 11. Call for times and dates.

Specialty tours: Special events, holiday and theme cruises are offered throughout the season. Call for details.

Therapy office relocates to Severna Park clinic

Cypress Creek Therapy Associates has closed its Pasadena office and relocated to the Severna Park clinic at 645 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Suite 211.

Merging the two offices has consolidated resources for a wider treatment of conditions at one site.

Terri Rose named Severn Bancorp manager

Severn Bancorp Inc. recently named Terri Rose manager of the bank's new Edgewater branch.

A 16-year employee, she will oversee 11 staff members and all branch operations.

The Edgewater branch at Solomons Island and Mayo roads is a full-service bank.
