Thanks for coverage of medical center

Thank you very much for informing your readers about Anne Arundel Medical Center's recent recognition as one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals. As your writers correctly stated in an article as well as in an editorial column, AAMC was chosen from more than 6,000 hospitals nationwide.

This recognition is especially meaningful to the medical staff, employees and volunteers at AAMC because the study to determine the list considered four important areas: quality of care, operation efficiency, financial performance and growing community service. More importantly, it considered patient safety - one of the top priorities at AAMC.

It is extremely gratifying to have an outside institution recognize the hospital staff's hard work. It is equally encouraging to have The Baltimore Sun understand the significance of this recognition.

Thank you.

Arthur Ebersberger

Chairman, Anne Arundel Health System Board of Trustees

Editor's note: Anne Arundel Medical Center received the top 100 ranking from Solucient, an Evanston, Ill., health care data firm.
