March 25, 2005|By Larry Carson

Howard County has hired a new human resources director, Michael W. Finnerin, 58, of Halethorpe, to replace the late Robert S. Lazarewicz.

Finnerin said he is a veteran of 25 years in the state's personnel bureaucracy, which he left in 1997.

Since then, he said, he has done human resources work for Johns Hopkins University and a private consulting firm before coming to Howard County. He started work March 14. The job pays $87,381 a year.

Finnerin said he is looking forward to working in Howard County. "I spent my entire career in human resources. This is a pretty nice operation," he said.
