Penn State women fall to Temple in 6-5 upset

Glavin's hat trick leads Owls to win over No. 2

Patty Glavin recorded a hat trick and scored the eventual game-winner as visiting Temple upset No. 2 Penn State, 6-5, in women's lacrosse yesterday.

Lindsay Dutch scored with 14:18 remaining in the game to pull the Nittany Lions (5-2) within a goal, but the teams played the last 14 minutes without a goal to secure the victory for the Owls (2-2).

Cornell 13, No. 13 Ohio State 11: The Big Red (2-2) jumped out to a 5-1 lead to secure the upset over the host Buckeyes (4-2).

No. 7 Dartmouth 14, James Madison 12: Dartmouth senior Katieanne Christian scored five goals, pacing the Big Green (4-0) over the Dukes (4-2).

Men

No. 3 Duke 10, Vermont 3: Junior attackman Dan Flannery scored three goals and the Blue Devils" defense held the visiting Catamounts (2-2) scoreless in the second half to help Duke improve to 8-0.

Salve Regina 21, Hood 2: The Seahawks (1-1) held the host Blazers (0-3) scoreless in the first half.,
