Dartmouth deals No. 4 Terps men first loss, 7-6

The fourth-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team was upset by Dartmouth, 7-6, last night in Boca Raton, Fla.

The Big Green (4-2) outscored the Terps 3-1 in the third quarter to erase the Terps' 3-1 halftime lead.

The Terps (3-1) had two final chances to tie the game but Dartmouth goalie Andrew Goldstein made two saves in the final 45 seconds to preserve the win.

No. 3 Duke 10, Vermont 3: Junior Dan Flannery scored three goals and the Blue Devils' defense held the visiting Catamounts (2-2) scoreless in the second half to lift Duke (8-0).

Salve Regina 21, Hood 2: The Seahawks (1-1) held the host Blazers (0-3) scoreless in the first half.

Women

Temple 6, No. 2 Penn State 5: The visiting Owls (2-2) were led by Patty Glavin with three goals in their upset over the Nittany Lions (5-2).

Cornell 13, No. 13 Ohio State 11: The Big Red (2-2) jumped out to a 5-1 lead to secure the upset over the host Buckeyes (4-2).
