Wine Of The Week

March 23, 2005|By Michael Dresser

2003 Snoqualmie Chenin Blanc, Columbia Valley ($7). This isn't a wine for those who cringe at a touch of sweetness; nor is it sugary and cloying. It's a fresh, fruity, lightly sweet Washington state white wine that is perfectly suited for serving with spicy food such as Thai or Indian cuisine. It's fragrant and floral, with hints of pear, peach, melons, cherry and citrus fruit -- with a dash of spices for seasoning. Complex? No. Delightful? You bet. And perfect for springtime and summer quaffing.
