Player of the Year
Chandrea Jones, IND
No other player had the repertoire of skills the 5-foot-9 guard brought to her senior year. Jones led the No. 7 Indians with great range, a quick drive to the hoop, flashy passes and a solid defensive game.

Last season's All-City/County Player of the Year averaged 23.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game as the Indians reached the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference final. She finished her career as the Indians' all-time leading scorer and the fifth-most prolific scorer in area girls basketball history with 2,252 points.
Coach of the Year
Diana Nelson, Douglass
Two years ago, Douglass had to drop its girls basketball team for lack of interest. A year ago, the Ducks struggled to keep the program alive. But this season, Nelson, 24, set the program on a steady foundation by taking a few returnees and several transfers and putting together one of the best seasons in school history at 11-4.
An Alabama native who played volleyball at Coppin State, Nelson brought discipline to the team.
