Mount St. Mary's men fall in opener, 15-7

Jordan Hall scored a career-high four goals and had two assists as the Delaware men's lacrosse team handed Mount St. Mary's a season-opening loss, 15-7, at Boys' Latin High School yesterday.

The Blue Hens (3-2) scored four straight goals in the third quarter.

Goucher 14, York 3: Dan Flamholz's five goals and four assists lifted the Gophers (3-2, 1-1 Capital Athletic Conference) over the visiting Spartans (1-2, 0-1).

Ohio Wesleyan 6, Washington College 5: Brian Small scored the game-winner 54 seconds into overtime as the visiting Battling Bishops (1-2) defeated the Shoremen (1-2).

St. Mary's 20, Wittenberg 5: Pat Schmidt, Shane Baxter and Dave Mueller (North County) all recorded six points to lead the host Seahawks (2-3) over the Tigers (0-2).


Salisbury 20, Christopher Newport 7: Mary Bateman, Linda Ackerman and Erin McCarthy each had a hat trick as the host Sea Gulls (2-0) defeated the Captains (2-3).

St. Anselm 13, Washington College 9: The host Hawks (1-0) outscored the Shorewomen 8-4 in the second half. Lindsey Eichner became the all-time leader in career assists for the Shorewomen (1-1).

Washington & Lee 19, Frostburg State 7: Avery Lovejoy scored six goals and had two assists as the host Generals (2-1) beat the Bobcats (1-1).
