Navy women ousted in semifinals

WORCESTER, Mass. - Lisa Andrews scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the Holy Cross women's basketball team past Navy, 72-62, in the semifinals of the Patriot League tournament yesterday.

The Crusaders (19-10) will face No. 6 seed Colgate (12-17) in the championship game on Wednesday.

Holy Cross led 33-23 at the half.

The Mids (11-18) cut the deficit to 59-53 with 4:18 left, but did not get any closer. Holy Cross outscored Navy 13-9 in the final minutes.

Navy was led by Nikki Curtis' 17 points. Carly Meyer finished with 13 and Ashley Pelzek had 11. Abi Campbell tied for a game high with 13 rebounds for the Mids.

Navy shot 37.5 percent from the floor and 36.8 percent (seven of 19) from three-point range.
