Salisbury men overwhelm Catholic, 18-5

Junior Dan Boyer had four goals and two assists, leading Salisbury to an 18-5 win over visiting Catholic University yesterday.

The Cardinals (0-1, 0-1 Capital Athletic Conference) trailed 2-1 after one period, but the Sea Gulls (4-0, 3-0) exploded in the second quarter for a 6-1 halftime lead.

Junior Chris Phillips added three goals and two assists and senior Justin Smith scored twice with three assists in the Sea Gulls' 33rd consecutive victory.

Salisbury moved to 7-0 all- time against the Cardinals.

Women

No. 4 Duke 17, William and Mary 8: Junior Katie Chrest scored six goals to tie the school record for goals in a game for the host Blue Devils (4-0).

Kristen Waagbo (Mt. Hebron) added five goals and an assist for the Blue Devils.

Coach Kerstin Kimel earned her 100th victory with the Blue Devils.
