JOHN WILLIAM HOTEM, 65; of Berryville, VA formerly of Overlea, MD died Monday, Feb. 21, 2005. He was an electrician for Sippel Electric Co. He is survived by cousins, Betty Rion of Berryville, VA, Virginia Banks of PA, and Hughy Cook of Luray, VA; a great niece, Chloe Cote of MD; and a nephew, Brandon Hilton of MD. Services will be private. Burial will be at a later date at Parkwood Cemetery, Baltimore. She was born April 24, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland to Dr. Walter and Evangeline (Jones) Baker. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and Ardmore, PA and had been a Side Lakeresident since 1999. She was a 1951 graduate of Agnes Irwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA and a 1955 graduate of Smith College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Julia was united in marriage on June 2, 1956 in Baltimore, MD to Rev. Thomas Cradock Jensen, Sr. She worked as an Executive Assistant at Bank of America, Meridian Healthcare, and Genesis Eldercare, retiring in May of 1999. She was a member of Chisholm United Methodist Church, its Church Choir and active in its Community Outreach Programs. She was a second mother to granddaughter Lindsey, age 13. She was a supporter of the International Wolf Center in Ely. She was a long time member of the Towson Womens Group in Baltimore, MD. Survivors include her children-Thomas Cradock (Debbie) Jensen, Jr. of Side Lake; Arthur Cradock Jensen of Minneapolis; Julia Calvert Jensen of Kansas City, MO; Kathleen Fredricka (Norman) Yarbrough of Baltimore, MD; eight Grandchildren; sister-Eugenia Baker Thirkield of Weston, CT; numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Rev. Thomas Sr. on 3/22/73, daughter Katherine Cradock Jensen on 6/13/63. Memorial Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Chisholm United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ramon Olson officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are by Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service-Chisholm, MN.
