Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Eastern District

Arrest: Members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested Quinzell Tyrell Covington, 18, yesterday at his apartment in the 1300 block of Pennsylvania Ave. on a charge of attempted murder. Covington is charged in a warrant with shooting George Bryant, 30, of the 3100 block of Dudley Ave., on Feb. 9 in the 1200 block of Bonaparte Ave., said task force Sgt. Jae Kim.

Southwestern District

Shooting: Acie Lyons, 25, told police he was attempting to rob a man at knifepoint in the 3500 block of W. Caton Ave. about 4:40 p.m. Wednesday when the other man pulled a handgun and shot him in the back. Lyons was treated at St. Agnes HealthCare and released. Police had lodged no charge against him.

Southern District

Shooting: Floyd Evans, 37, reported he was walking in the 600 block of E. Patapsco Ave. about 2 a.m. Wednesday when he observed a man shooting at another man. The gunman missed his intended target, but Evans was wounded in the right arm. He went home, and was taken by his wife to Harbor Hospital for treatment.

Stolen vehicle: A white 1991 Ford Probe with handicap tags 24193 was stolen Wednesday in the 4400 block of Pennington Ave.

Northern District

Assault: A woman, 54, was driving in the 900 block of Gorsuch Ave. on Wednesday afternoon when one of several teenage boys walking nearby used a fire extinguisher to spray the driver's side of her vehicle, nearly causing her to crash. She was not injured.

Stolen vehicle: A red 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis with tags HSG 624 was stolen Wednesday in the 300 block of W. 26th St.

Southeastern District

Stolen vehicle: A red, two-door 1992 Honda with tags 6AB N26 was parked Wednesday in the 600 block of N. Highland Ave. with the key in the ignition when someone stole it.

Theft: A purse containing $350 and personal items was stolen Tuesday from a 2005 Suzuki in the 4800 block of Foster Ave.

Theft: Several compact discs and a combination CD player/radio were stolen Tuesday from a 1997 Ford Taurus parked in the 3400 block of Hudson St.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery: Moments after entering a restroom at Macy's in White Marsh Mall about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, two teenage boys were assaulted by three other teenage boys, one with a knife, and robbed of a total of $40.

Essex Precinct

Robbery: After placing items on the counter at Rite Aid in the 1400 block of Martin Blvd. about 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, a man threatened a clerk with an unknown weapon and removed an undisclosed sum of money from a register.

Burglary: Someone entered Middle River Self Storage in the 1000 block of Middle River Road between Feb. 13 and Wednesday and removed the drive shaft of a motor boat. The part was valued at $4,000.

Franklin Precinct

School fire: The contents of a trash can were set on fire in a restroom near the front lobby of Owings Mills High School about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. Damage was confined to the trash can.
