Dolores Prager, 74, member of social clubs

Dolores Prager, a homemaker and member of social clubs in Anne Arundel County, died of cancer Feb. 16 at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Linthicum. The Annapolis resident was 74.

Born Dolores Dean in Cumberland, she moved with her parents in 1934 to West Baltimore's Rosedale Street. A 1948 graduate of Western High School, she was a teen model at Hutzler's department store and later worked in its commercial art department.

She also worked briefly for Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. and for seven years in the 1950s ran the Catonsville Teen Center on Frederick Road for the Baltimore County Department of Recreation.

She and her husband, Joseph Anthony Prager, moved to Cincinnati when he was transferred as a sales manager for Anchor Hocking's Carr-Lowrey division. They returned to Maryland in 1982, and lived in Severna Park until moving to Annapolis in 1996.

Mrs. Prager was a longtime member of the Etcetera Club of Severna Park and ran its mah-jongg group. She also belonged to the New Annapolitans newcomers social club.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Walden Golf Club, 1500 Reidel Road, Crofton.

In addition to her husband of 56 years, survivors include a son, Dean Roger Prager of Crofton.
