Catonsville girls hold on to upset No. 8 Woodlawn

Sandy Wasserbach had two steals with less than two minutes remaining as visiting Catonsville held off No. 8 Woodlawn for a 37-35 upset victory last night in a Baltimore County Class 3A-4A game.

The Comets (17-6, 10-1) took a 36-31 lead on Janay Johnson's 10-footer off a feed from Jessica Nonn with 4:05 left. Brittney Taylor hit a three-point play and added a free throw to pull Woodlawn within 36-35 with 55 seconds to go.

Nonn added a free throw with 15 seconds left, and Johnson grabbed an offensive rebound with six seconds to go to seal the Comets' victory over the two-time defending county champion Warriors (17-4, 10-1).

No. 9 Milford Mill 69, Parkville 30: Chelsea Jeter led the visiting Millers (16-3) with 21 points and Shawna Scott scored 14.

Nikki Butler had 13 points for the Knights.

Boys

No. 7 Randallstown 71, Dundalk 28: Darrell Bryant scored 17 points to power the Rams (20-1) past the host Eagles.

Marlon Johnson added 10 points for Randallstown, which led 20-4 after the first quarter and 39-10 at the half.
